The i-WANNA Project

The term i-WANNA is an acronym which stands for “Inner Wish and Nagging Aspiration”. The missing “N” is explained by saying “Your i-WANNA is not complete until you’re in – Inspired, Involved, and Influential. You are the missing piece.” A person’s “i-WANNA” represents their ultimate dream(s) or goal(s) for making a difference in the world.

What is The “Lifesigning” Challenge?

The current national initiative of the i-WANNA Project is called “Lifesigning” – a viral movement which organizes volunteers to hold posters which display positive affirmations (such as “You’re Awesome”, “Keep Your Head Up”, “You Are Loved”) and display them enthusiastically to the public in flash mob style events. We use social media, and grassroots activism to help individuals identify something bigger than themselves, contribute to a viral movement that’s simple yet profound, and connect with other peers in ways that promotes a culture of peer mentoring.

Why Accept The Challenge Today?

Individuals Will See “It’s Cool To Dream Big & Be Positive”: By doing something like this, the people will be involved in framing their own reality on behalf of the place they call home. This would also give school districts a chance to relate more personally to their students by using the validating properties of collective action to reinforce a positive mental shift for all students. While incidents of bullying, shootings, and other crises inspire young people to react sometimes in unproductive ways, Lifesigning empowers students to proactively promote the power of positive peer pressure in the world around them.
